As I mentioned before after reading [[30_zk/30.02_refs/Arden-TheBearandTheNightingale-2017/Arden-TheBearandTheNightingale-2017.md]] I immediately ordered the follow up books from the series. And this second one was even more exciting and fun than the first one. I was immediately hooked when I started reading. And wanted to kinda read the third one right away but convinced something else first to savor the joyful anticipation some more.
This book also has a wonderful quote that fits so much in our current time:
“Why carve things of wood [..] if you can make marvelous things of ice with only your hands?”
“I carve things of wood because things made by effort are more real than things made by wishing”
This interaction between Morozko (Father Frost) and Vasya the protagonist feels so relevant to these current times of generative AI and I was very happy to find it in this book.
