I was really curious about this book as the topic of care work has been interesting to me for most of my adult life. There are many situations in which I’ve realized in the past how important and yet undervalued care work is in everything. The book does a great job walking through different ways of how “value” by various measures is defined and how it historically came to be. And also how much of reality was brushed aside by many of the well known thinkers in economics to make their theories work. If care work is something that is interesting to you I can very much recommend the book.
